Needle felting is a 'magical' process where, with the aid of a special needle, you can change carded wool as soft as angel hair into 3 dimensional creatures.
I am fairly new to needle felting, but I warn you it can become addictive.
These were the first two creatures I made in this medium. A bear, naturally, and a tiny rabbit.
They are made from carded wool (or 'tops') like spinners use. You use a felting needle, which is a fine barbed needle, which you work through the wool over and over again. This causes the fibres to mat (felt) together making it tighter and firmer. By turning the wool mass as you are working it you can mould and shape it into anything you can imagine.
My first attempt was Monty the little brown bear. When I finished him , and his shawl and dolly, I had to make him a friend, didn't I? So with Easter coming up I thought "Why not have a stab (ha ha) at an easter bunny?"

It doesn't show too well on the photos but monty has a belly button and a little tail (hidden by his shawl).
Monty is about 3.5in (9cm) tall, stood up, and sits at roughly 2.5in (6.5cm). So when I decided to try and make Easter bunny even smaller my husband said I was mad, but here he is, Easter Bunny, 2in (5cm) tall standing and 1.5in (4cm) sitting, with his little egg. I have started on a weeny dragon and when he's finished he'll appear here.

Up to now my felted creatures have not got as far as this site. they are being snapped up as soon as I can finnish them. Also I have had many commisions for them. As soon as I can I will put my my needle felted creatures on the site for sale. Until then if you would like to commission a particular creature please contact me on 01756 796548 or by the contact page.
